Seriously, you will not believe us until you see them. Terry, also, very thoughtfully maintains a comfy, help-yourself treats area, for late night snacks. Rather than some B&Bs where you feel a little isolated or cooped-up, you feel like the grounds belong to you, and you can wander as much as you want. She maintains a French-style flower garden with all sorts of dazzling blooms, as well as numerous other patches of Siberian irises and other memorable flowers. On that topic, they have a surprising amount of parking and lovely grounds, so it is also ideal for a corporate retreat or wedding. The location is perfect, totally close, but also like a sanctuary. Being any closer would have meant being overtaken/crowded by the hustle-and-bustle. Chimney Hill is like a 2 minute drive (and a 3-4 minute bike ride) from Lambertville/New Hope. We shouldn’t have hesitated for a moment. Save yourself time and benefit from our comparative research ! The two front-runners were Chimney Hill, and an inn embedded in downtown New Hope, because we were concerned that Chimney Hill might be a little out-of-the-way. As part of planning our vacation, we spent several days comparing the different lodging options within a 50 mile area. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention two things, especially. (With notice, I’m sure they would have obliged, if we had wanted something different). Little did we know that the recipe is so well-admired that it is included in a regional cookbook ! As the entree, we had the fluffiest, easiest-to-eat pancakes on earth. Upon check in, they ask you what you’d like in the morning (so that you can mention any allergies and/or special dietary needs). The breakfast was delicious, home-made fare. The innkeeper helpfully explains that a large section of the main house dates back to 1820. The breakfast area has a nice level of colonial elegance combined with friendliness. The main building has an especially warm and inviting downstairs living-room type area, with fire place, exquisite piano, and period furniture. The photos on their website are good, but do not give the campus justice. We cannot say enough kind words about the innkeepers Terry and Rich. Add in: beautifully-maintained gardens, spacious layout, welcoming common rooms, and attentive and responsive proprietors. The attributes that got our attention? Terrific location and excellent livability (i.e., easy access, WiFi and great cell phone coverage, lots of parking, excellent privacy, great water pressure in the shower/bath/jacuzzi). It’s a perfect get-away and headquarters for play, work or. :-) No matter the time of the year, no matter what the occasion - spend the week, weekend or both at the Chimney Hill Inn. in the quaint communities of New Hope, Lambertville, Stockton, Flemington, Frenchtown, Lahaska, Point Pleasant or another place along the Delaware River?
